This Privacy Policy explains how Motivated Moms LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use The Homies mobile application, its website pages, and related services. The Homies is operated by Motivated Moms LLC. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Motivated Moms LLC.
The Homies helps families and households organize recurring chores, task lists, reminders, member profiles, subscriptions, rewards, and related account settings. Because household organization can involve information about adults, children, and other household members, we work to collect only what we need to provide and protect the service.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, username, sign-in method, and credentials handled by our authentication provider.
- Crew information: Crew name, member names, roles, display titles, usernames, invitations, join codes, and administrator settings.
- Task and planning information: rooms, chores, assignments, schedules, notes, reminders, completion status, approval settings, goals, rewards, task libraries, and imported or exported task data.
- Friends League information: an adult member’s chosen public display name and avatar, friend invitations and connections, blocks, and aggregate completion scores. Friends do not receive private task names, notes, email addresses, Crew rosters, or completion times.
- Preferences: theme, date format, print settings, notification choices, profile icons, goal settings, Screen Time choices, and other app settings.
- Subscription information: plan, status, purchase identifiers, renewal state, payment platform, and customer-portal status. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
- Communications: privacy requests, support requests, feedback, and messages sent through forms or email.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information, including an app-generated sign-in device identifier, device type and name, operating-system and app versions, browser user agent, time zone, and timestamps.
- Usage information required to operate features, including sign-in counts, task completions, reminder-delivery state, Friends League scores, feature settings, and Screen Time rule state.
- Operational and security logs, such as API metadata, errors, security events, and troubleshooting information.
- Notification addresses and delivery status when notifications are enabled.
- Website cookies, pages visited, referring pages, and analytics or advertising measurement identifiers used on motivatedmoms.com.
Screen Time and camera information
When Screen Time is enabled, The Homies stores the Crew profile, selected rule, and the app or category names chosen for that rule. Apple may provide opaque application, category, or web-domain tokens that remain in the device’s app-group storage. Camera access is optional and is used to scan a Crew QR code; camera frames are processed on the device and are not uploaded by the observed app flow.
Legacy account conversion
If you convert an existing Motivated Moms account to The Homies, we may use legacy account information to verify ownership and migrate the account. This can include the legacy email, name, subscription state, rooms, people, tasks, schedules, completions, settings, and account identifiers.
How we use information
- Create, authenticate, secure, and manage accounts.
- Provide Crew, task, reminder, invitation, Friends League, Screen Time, subscription, print, watch, widget, and settings features.
- Sync authorized data across devices.
- Verify entitlements, restore purchases, manage subscriptions, and provide billing support.
- Send transactional messages, invitations, password resets, reminders, account notices, and service updates.
- Respond to privacy and support requests.
- Improve reliability, security, performance, design, and functionality.
- Detect and respond to fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, security incidents, and technical issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.
We do not use household task content, child-profile information, or private notes for targeted advertising.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information:
- To service providers that support hosting, authentication, databases, email, push notifications, subscriptions, app-store distribution, website hosting, security, and support.
- To Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Expo, AWS, identity providers, and other providers as needed to deliver the service.
- To authorized Crew members according to the roles and sharing features selected in the product.
- To Friends League connections only as described above.
- When required for legal, safety, security, fraud-prevention, or business-transfer purposes.
Children and managed profiles
The Homies is intended for families and household organizers. Only an adult with legal capacity may create or own an independent account. An authorized adult household organizer may create a managed profile for a child. A child email address is not required for a managed username. A managed child profile and any adult-created credential remain controlled by the adult account holder and do not automatically convert into an independent account.
The service is not currently offered for classroom, school, camp, or daycare administration. If you believe child information was provided without appropriate authorization, email privacy@motivatedmoms.com.
A parent or guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a child profile. We verify control of the relevant account and authority to act for the child before disclosing or deleting child information. Do not send identity documents through ordinary email unless we provide a secure method and specifically request them.
Your choices
- Update account, Crew, member, task, and goal information through the app.
- Change notification and device permissions.
- Manage subscriptions through the applicable app store or customer portal.
- Download a copy of data for the member currently signed in. A Crew organizer does not receive another member’s private export through this control.
- Request account deletion in the app or through the public account-deletion page.
- Remove or block Friends League connections.
Account deletion and data requests
Request deletion through the guarded in-app flow, visit The Homies Account Deletion, or email privacy@motivatedmoms.com. We may ask you to sign in again or verify control of the account email or linked sign-in. We do not ask for your password.
Deleting a member account removes its member profile, linked sign-ins, registered devices and push addresses, reminders, completions, preferences, social profile and connections, and other personal application data. Shared assignments may be deleted or transferred so a continuing Crew can retain its shared task list. Deleting the final member removes the Crew and its application data.
Deleting The Homies data does not cancel an Apple App Store, Google Play, or other external subscription. Cancel renewal with the provider that billed you.
Retention
- Account and application data is generally retained while the account is active and then removed through account deletion.
- Production application and database logs and subscription-support audit objects are configured for 180 days.
- Production automated database backups are configured for 35 days.
- Failed reminder-delivery queue messages are configured for 14 days.
- Limited one-way authentication tombstones and opaque retired billing identifiers may remain to prevent deleted identities or billing records from being incorrectly reattached.
- Records required for tax, accounting, disputes, security, or legal compliance may be retained as necessary.
- Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Expo, identity providers, and support providers may retain records under their own policies and legal obligations.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards including access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, managed cloud infrastructure, monitoring, credential hashing, and restricted operational access. No security system is perfect. Protect your devices and avoid putting sensitive financial, medical, government-identification, or similar information in task names, notes, or Crew fields.
Payments and subscriptions
Purchases may be processed by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, or other payment providers. They process information under their own policies. We receive limited purchase and entitlement information needed to provide access, restoration, support, fraud prevention, and reconciliation.
Measurement and advertising
The current The Homies mobile application does not include a third-party advertising, mobile-analytics, or crash-reporting SDK. AWS-hosted services generate operational and security logs. Our websites may use analytics, advertising, or measurement tools to understand website traffic and marketing performance. We will update this notice and the applicable store disclosures before enabling materially different mobile collection.
International processing and privacy rights
We are based in the United States and may process information in the United States and other countries where service providers operate. Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information and to appeal certain decisions. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice by posting the revised policy, updating the “Last updated” date, or providing additional notice where appropriate.
