Why I’m Canceling Amazon Prime
When I first joined Amazon Prime it was for the fast, 2 day shipping with no minimum order. The price was $79/year and I loved it! Throughout the years they have added more and more Prime benefits – Prime Video, Prime Music, and more. I have used Prime Video here and there. I recently signed up for Spotify so I don’t use Prime Music at all. They also added One Day and even Same Day shipping on some products and I have enjoyed that, too.
Over time, they have gradually increased their pricing and now it’s $119/year. Even still, I have kept my Prime membership due to the amount I used the shipping. I love Subscribe and Save to set it and forget it on household basics.
But now I’m canceling Prime and there are three main reasons:- The shipping service level has decreased. Even before Covid-19, things were not arriving as promised, it’s been very inconsistent.
- I’m working on reducing impulse purchases. Not having Prime will help me slow down and consider more carefully.
- I’m not getting any special pricing on my yearly fee for being a longtime Prime member.
Motivated Moms has a price increase coming on Monday, June 15th. I want you to know about it because when you join, you are locked in at the rate you sign up at as long as you maintain your membership – unlike Amazon Prime. The current price is $12/year – that’s just $1/month. On June 15, 2020, the new price will be $19.99/year.
It’s really important to me that you be able to budget your expenses and knowing that your Motivated Moms membership will be locked in is a way I can help. Join by June 14th for $12/year and that price is yours as long as you want to keep it!
