Changes for 2022:
Here are the edits I made to the task list for 2022. These changes are NOT automatically pushed to your list to prevent overwriting your customizations. Minor edits to task schedules are made to more evenly balance the tasks and make sure the preplanned list fits on the printable. You don’t need to make any of these changes if you like your list as is.
You can review the additions and see if you want to add them, also. If you do little to no customizing of the app, you can do a full reset of the app in your Settings menu: Touch person icon upper left, scroll down to Erase/Reset All Tasks.
Additions:
- Set clocks forward one hour at bedtime on March 12, 2022 (non-repeating)
- Set clocks back one hour at bedtime on November 5, 2022 (non-repeating)
- Vote on November 8, 2022 (non-repeating)
- Vacuum/sweep stairs every Monday
Edits:
- Clean windows/blinds/curtains – garage/attic/basement – Every 12 months on the 3rd Wednesday of September
- Declutter/organize night stands – master bedroom – Every 6 months on the 3rd Wednesday of May and November
- Sort kitchen & bath towels/cloths – buy new if needed – Every 12 months on the 1st Friday of September
Changes for 2021:
While working on the 2021 planners, I made some new edits to the master list. The reason for these edits are mostly to balance out the weeks to make them more even. The daylight savings time and vote tasks get added every year manually.
These changes will not be pushed to you unless you do a full reset of the app. They are fairly minor overall but you can review the changes to see if you want to edit your own app without a full reset.
Added the following tasks:
- Set clocks forward one hour at bedtime on March 13, 2021
- Set clocks back one hour at bedtime on November 6, 2021
- Vote on November 2, 2021
Moved these tasks:
- Clean all light switches was on the 3rd Tuesday of February, now it is the 2nd Tuesday of February
- Do mending/ironing was on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, now it is the 4th Wednesday of every month
- Dust light bulbs in all lamps was on the 3rd Tuesday every 3 months, now it is the 2nd Tuesday
- Clean vent hose on dryer was on the 3rd Wednesday of March, now it is the 4th Wednesday
- Clean off/dust top of upper kitchen cabinets was the 3rd Thursday of March, now is the 3rd Thursday of June
- Turn mattress and wash mattress pad – master bedroom was the 1st Friday in June and December, now it is the 2nd Friday of June and December. This is so it will coincide with changing the sheets in that room.
- Declutter/organize night stands – children’s/guest room was the 1st Wednesday of March, July, and November, now it is the 1st Wednesday of April, August, and December
- Check stock of smoke/carbon monoxide detector batteries was the 2nd Sunday of October, now the 1st Sunday of October
- Replace batteries in smoke/carbon monoxide detectors was the 2nd Wednesday of October, now is the 1st Wednesday of October
- Clean out magazines – donate or recycle was the 4th Wednesday of November, now is the 1st Thursday in December
- Clean behind/under refrigerator (vacuum coils) was the 2nd Thursday of October, now is the 4th Thursday of October
- Wash walls – utility room was the 2nd Wednesday of June, now it is the 4th Wednesday of July
- Work on photos now happens on the 5th Tuesday of the month. Not every month has a 5th Tuesday so this will now happen 4 times a year, and the months will vary. If you need it monthly just make sure you don’t change it.
- Spend time working on a basement/attic or storage space now happens on the 5th Wednesday of the month, when there is one. If you need it monthly just keep it in weeks 1-4 OR you can make it happen on a specific date of the month.
- Clean dishwasher door, Clean microwave – inside and out, and Check/refill liquid soap dispensers happen every 2 weeks. I adjusted them to the opposite week to balance out the tasks a bit better.
Changes made in April 2020:
Here are the changes I have made to the master task list as of April 15, 2020. As part of the app development, the tasks were standardized so they could be fully editable. The way the printables are created had to be changed completely and this was a time-intensive project. I did not want to delay the app release so I used the old list for printables for 2020. The new printables are now in the PDF library.
The printables have limited space for task lists. With the tasks being standardized, some weeks were overflowing the page so I needed to balance them out.
These changes are not being pushed to your app because they would overwrite your own customizations and some members have spent many hours editing to fit their own household.
If you want your app to match the printables you have two options:
- Use the app reset option. Go to Settings > Erase/Reset All Tasks
- Edit your tasks individually. Go to Settings > Edit Tasks and search for the task name you wish to edit. This will allow you to pick and choose the tasks you want to update.
Option 1 (reset all tasks) will also remove people and rooms you’ve added – it’s a reset as if you were starting fresh. If you want to use the app and printables interchangeably you’ll want to do the reset and not edit your tasks.
