Good morning!
I was up around 5 this morning – this is not normal for me! My husband was off last week. We didn’t go anywhere but we did get a few things done around here plus went to a movie. This morning, though, it’s back to the regular routine. We both had trouble sleeping last night, turns out. I got up at 4:47 and took something for the headache I’d been fighting throughout the night and then my husband got up and started getting ready for work. I thought this was a bit early for him but didn’t say anything. After he was showered and dressed, he went into the kitchen. Then his alarm went off in our room. I stopped it and went out to the kitchen and told him it was time to get up. Hee! He had no idea he’d gotten up that early – he thinks he must have dreamt he heard the alarm. He was a little bummed he could have slept another hour but we laughed it off. On the plus side, the drive to work was the quickest ever, he said!
One thing I was puzzling over last night was the fact that our master bathroom toilet gets mold in it in this one spot at the back of the bowl – ICK! I clean it and the next day it’s starting to come back already. I know that bathroom gets very humid, even with the two exhaust fans, but I thought there surely must be a way to keep it from coming back so fast. After searching for solutions, I decided to try using bleach in both the toilet bowl and tank. The method said to put a cup in each, swish the solution around in the bowl, then let stand 10 minutes. Last, flush three times to get the bleach out of the tank. Plumbers say products you leave in the tank can deteriorate the toilet parts quickly so I don’t want to use those if I can avoid it. Since I was up bright and early, I did that first thing this morning so we will see if that helps! I am guessing the mold was never going completely away with normal cleaning so I’m hoping the bleach solution going through the tank into the bowl will kill off whatever I can’t get to. If this keeps the mold away this week, I am planning to do this once a week when I’m cleaning it anyway and see if that resolves it for good. Here’s hoping!
If you follow the Motivated Moms schedule, you know that toilet cleaning happens every Monday so I’ve got one done already! I’m thankful to have regular toilets to clean and not need one of these:
Happy Monday, y’all!
